It's finished! We absolutely love how this project turned out! It's amazing what some MDF boards and a little paint can do! It added so much character to our bedroom. Check out Part 2 of the process!
This is where we left off from Part 1. All of the MDF boards are nailed in. Next up, we needed to put wood filler and joint compound at each connection. Below you can see how it looks with just wood filler. Then look at the difference with joint compound on top. I love how seamless it becomes!
We caulked every edge, then primed.
Then came paint!
We used Valspar's "Weather the Storm" shade of green and it was so perfect! It was exactly what we wanted. In our natural-lit bedroom, we knew we could go dark on the paint so it could add some contrast and character. Lighter rooms and bigger spaces mean you can go darker with paint colors.
